Background
Luke has over a decade of experience in the real estate and financial sectors, with a proven track record of structuring high-value acquisitions and developments for multiple private equity real estate firms. He has overseen more than $1.2 billion in commercial real estate assets, successfully closed over $470 million in hotel development and acquisition financing, structured more than $50 million in equity partnerships, and transacted on more than $100 million in 1031 exchanges. Luke’s expertise spans both commercial real estate and hospitality sectors, and he’s known for his ability to translate complex financial and tax information into clear, actionable insights for his clients.
Luke’s career began at Ernst & Young, where he implemented tax credit strategies for Fortune 500 companies, saving them over $125 million annually in tax liabilities. In 2013, his passion for real estate led him to join a prominent public non-traded REIT in Dallas, where he played a key role in structuring joint ventures and managing opportunistic real estate portfolios across various asset classes. Later, he transitioned to a leadership role at a private equity firm specializing in hospitality acquisitions and development, overseeing everything from deal sourcing and due diligence to debt and equity structuring. His deep understanding of market trends and financial structures allows him to provide tailored investment strategies that help maximize returns and minimize risk.
A native Texan, Luke earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance, with a focus on quantitative finance and real estate, from the University of Texas at Dallas. Now residing in Colorado with his wife, Sheridan, and their two children, he spends his free time trading stocks and options, hiking, and woodworking (though sanding isn’t his favorite).
